Anthropic has just introduced Sonnet 5.5, an artificial intelligence model positioned in the mid-range price tier. The proposal is to deliver superior performance in professional routines without increasing expenses.
Advances in Speed and Efficiency
The new system operates more than 30% faster than the previous version and reduces effective costs by up to 30%. It consumes fewer tokens to complete the same tasks, which generates real savings even while maintaining the original pricing table.
Focus on Practical Tasks
Developed for everyday corporate use, the Sonnet 5.5 stands out in:
- Software programming
- Creation of presentations and spreadsheets
- Image interpretation
In coding tests, it achieved 70.6% accuracy, compared to just 10.3% of the previous model, even surpassing Opus 5.5, the company's more expensive version.
Enhanced Security
For the first time, a model in the Sonnet line receives the same protection filters used in the more advanced versions. Cybersecurity features allow automatic blocking of high-risk requests.
Prices and Upcoming Releases
Prices remain at US$ 2 per million input tokens and US$ 10 per million output tokens. In the coming weeks, Anthropic is expected to release an update to the more accessible model, Haiku.
