Motivation Ceremony at Beijing Basketball Club
The Beijing Shougang Basketball Club held a special meeting today to kick off the 2026-2027 season. The event, held at the Shougang Sports building, brought together coaches, players, media representatives and fans under the motto of full unity for the city.
Preparation and New Talents
After a period of intensive training, the men's and women's teams presented their renewed squads. General Manager Zhang Yunsong highlighted the adjustments to the player roster and the arrival of promising young talents, which should increase competitiveness.
On the women's team, Taiwanese Zhao Yazhuo joins the group, while youth player Augu Marui moves up to the main squad. Coach Li Xiang emphasized the focus on consistent results in every game.
Reinforcements for the Men's Team
The men's roster gains more options with the promotion of Wang Kai and Lv Tianfu, along with foreign players Barry Brown, Jakarr Sampson and Lindy Waters III. Head coach Li Nan stressed the need for a combative posture on the court.
Partnership with Health Sector
For the first time, the traditional name "Beijing Shougang Men's Basketball" returns to the CBA league. The club signed an agreement with Shouyi Medical, part of the Shougang group, to provide full medical support, including injury prevention and emergency care.

Emotional videos and the presentation of symbolic flags marked the moment of connection with the fans. Captain Zhai Xiaochuan and other athletes took part in the banner handover.
The men's season starts on October 20, 2026, against Guangdong Hongyuan at the Shougang Ice Hockey Arena. Women's matches are scheduled to begin in December. Ticket information will be released on the club's official channels.
