Revenue grows, but result disappoints
Corinthians closed the first seven months of 2026 with a loss of R$ 278.7 million, well above the budgeted projection. Even with operating revenues above target, the club failed to balance its accounts.
Net operating revenue reached R$ 448.8 million, exceeding the forecast by R$ 75.6 million. Gross revenue totaled R$ 472 million, R$ 69 million above expectations.
Player sales fall short of plan
The main issue was low revenue from transfers. The club earned only R$ 3.2 million net from player deals, against an estimated R$ 150 million.
The board chose not to sell athletes in the initial window to value the squad and focus on on-field performance. The main operations were scheduled for mid-year but did not materialize in the period analyzed.
Expenses exceed projections
- Personnel costs: R$ 327.4 million (R$ 42.5 million above budget)
- Financial expenses: R$ 171 million (R$ 37.3 million above forecast)
Part of the increase in squad costs came from bonuses for the 2025 Copa do Brasil, totaling R$ 32.5 million paid in January.
Budget review under analysis
Without the extraordinary expenses, the deficit would stand at around R$ 73.8 million, close to plan. The board is evaluating updating projections by year-end, considering revenue performance and possible player sales.
