Tight race in the São Paulo Senate
The Quaest institute released this Tuesday, September 29, a new round of voting intentions for the renewal of Senate seats in São Paulo. The survey reveals that Guilherme Derrite (PP) appears numerically ahead, with 18% of preferences.
Technical tie between the main candidates
Right behind, Marina Silva (Rede) and Simone Tebet (PSB) register 15% each. Considering the margin of error of two percentage points, the three candidacies are technically tied.
Evolution of voting intentions
- Guilherme Derrite (PP): 18% (rose from 16% on September 23)
- Marina Silva (Rede): 15% (rose from 13%)
- Simone Tebet (PSB): 15% (rose from 12%)
- André do Prado (PL): 12% (rose from 8%)
Other names, such as Salles (Novo), who announced his withdrawal and support for Derrite and Prado, remained at 3%.
Methodology and context
The survey interviewed 1,800 voters between September 25 and 28, with a 95% confidence level. There were 15% undecided and 16% blank or null votes or voters who declared they would not vote. The study was commissioned by Globo and has registration SP-01590/2026 with the Electoral Court.
With 54 of the 81 Senate seats in dispute this year, the scenario in São Paulo remains open and should be closely monitored in the coming weeks.
