Market Opening
The Ibovespa started the trading session this Wednesday (30) in positive territory, surpassing 185 thousand points. The index reached 186,724 points after the opening auction, driven by the positive reaction to inflation data in the United States.
The commercial dollar fell to the range of R$ 5.17, renewing daily lows. Future interest rates also operated lower throughout the curve, reflecting the expectation that the Federal Reserve may pause interest rate hikes.
Inflation Data Cheer Wall Street
The core PCE index, the Fed's preferred measure, rose 0.2% in August, below the forecast of 0.3%. The annual reading also came milder than expected. In New York, Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq opened with moderate gains.
Europe Creates Its Own Payment Network
Meanwhile, five major European payment groups announced the creation of the European Network for Payments (ENP), headquartered in Madrid. The joint venture brings together Bizum (Spain), Bancomat (Italy), Wero (Belgium), SIBS-MB WAY and Vipps MobilePay, totaling 130 million users in 13 countries.
The goal is to connect national systems through a common technical layer based on instant payments, reducing dependence on American brands such as Visa and Mastercard.
