Lula Files Complaint with TSE Against Distorted Clips and Accuses Nikolas of Spreading Lies About Health Remarks

Original Speech in Belém

During an event in Pará on Monday (28), Lula highlighted advances in robotic surgery for prostate cancer and emphasized male prejudice regarding the preventive exam. The president compared the courage of women, who learn early to perform self-exams, with the resistance of many men to rectal examination.

He explained that the new procedure avoids urinary incontinence and sexual impotence, reinforcing the importance of early detection.

Response in Salvador

On Tuesday (29), during a campaign agenda in the capital of Bahia, the president rebutted publications that took the speech out of context. Lula stated that he was only talking about health and prevention, not any sexual connotation, and lamented the distortion made on social media.

"I wanted to make a comparison, as women are courageous," he declared, asking first lady Janja to help clarify the phrase.

Action at TSE

The PT campaign filed a representation at the Superior Electoral Court requesting the immediate removal of posts that distort the statement. The main focus is a publication by deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), which went viral with a manipulated clip.

The PT argues that the content misleads voters and requests a fine of up to R$ 30 thousand, in addition to prohibition of similar publications until the judgment.

Party Reaction

The party classified the initiative as yet another action by the Bolsonaro "Office of Hate" and also cited the use of the same distortion by Flávio Bolsonaro on social media. According to the lawyers, these are misogynistic inferences that have nothing to do with the original theme of public health.
