Messages exchanged between former banker Daniel Vorcaro and his private chef reveal the behind-the-scenes details of a sophisticated lunch organized to host Supreme Federal Court minister Alexandre de Moraes.
Preparations in the São Paulo countryside
The meeting took place on December 30, 2023, at the Six Senses Botanique hotel in Campos do Jordão (SP). Vorcaro did not attend but coordinated every detail with chef José Maria Meira. Three days earlier, the banker warned that the guest was “the most important to date.”
High-end menu
The menu included:
- Caviar
- Scallops with salmon roe
- Foie gras
- Wagyu beef
- Truffles
The dishes were paired with selected imported wines from Vorcaro’s private cellar, including bottles from old vintages such as 1983.
Instructions to avoid embarrassment
Vorcaro instructed the team not to mention his name during the event so the minister would feel at ease among the other guests. The reception lasted four and a half hours, and at the end the chef confirmed: “Mission given, mission accomplished.”
Link to multimillion-dollar contract
The following month, in January 2024, Banco Master signed a R$ 131 million contract with the firm of Viviane Barci, Moraes’s wife. Federal Police messages indicate that the minister himself reviewed the final version of the document.
Institutional crisis at the STF
The case took a new turn when minister André Mendonça released more than 50 messages exchanged between Vorcaro and a number attributed to Moraes. The episode heightened tensions within the Court, with calls for an investigation into Moraes and accusations of interference in ongoing inquiries.
