The race for the two Senate seats in Rio de Janeiro remains tight, with former governor Benedita da Silva (PT) maintaining an advantage or technical tie against two PL candidates.
Quaest Highlights
In the most recent Quaest survey, conducted between September 25 and 28, Benedita, Carlos Portinho and Carlos Jordy are tied at 15% each in the sum of the two seats. The PL candidates have grown since the previous round, while Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos) and Pedro Paulo (PSD) register 7%.

In the spontaneous vote, 79% did not name anyone. Benedita leads with 7%, followed by Jordy (4%) and Portinho (3%).
Datafolha Overview
Datafolha, with interviews between September 22 and 24, points to Benedita with 19% in the sum of the seats, against 12% for each of the PL rivals. Pedro Paulo appears with 9% and Crivella with 7%.
In the first choice, the PT member reaches 31%, more than double Jordy. In the second option, Portinho takes the lead with 14%.
The highest rejection remains with Crivella (61%), while Benedita has a vote potential of 35%, but 47% know her and reject her.
Survey Methodology
Quaest polled 1,302 voters, with a margin of error of 3 points and registration RJ-04419/2026 at the TSE. Datafolha interviewed 1,204 people, also with a 3-point error and registration RJ-02205/2026.
Both institutes were hired by Globo, with Datafolha also counting on Folha de S.Paulo.
